Theme Park Report

SCarowinds will return to Carowinds on select nights from Sept. 11 through Nov. 1, 2026, with haunted mazes, scare zones, live entertainment and nighttime rides. Attractions Magazine’s guide to this year’s event identifies “Jason: Blood Reign” as the major new haunted maze lineup addition. SCarowinds is included with daytime admission to Carowinds, as well as eligible season passes and memberships. Guests who want to enter the haunted mazes must pay separately through a Haunted Attractions Pass, which ranges from $10 to $25 depending on the night. An Express option offering a skip-the-line benefit is also available for an additional charge. Online single-day Carowinds tickets start at $45 on event dates and include admission to SCarowinds, Tricks and Treats, and Oktoberfest. Admission to the haunted mazes can be added for $10, bringing the reported starting total to $55. An All-Season Haunted Attractions Pass is listed at $49. Gold season pass holders receive entry to SCarowinds but must pay separately for the haunted mazes and “The Conjuring: Beyond Fear.” The park does not close between daytime operations and SCarowinds. The Halloween event is scheduled to run from 6 p.m. to midnight on Thursdays and Fridays, 7 p.m. to midnight on Saturdays, and 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays. The new “Jason: Blood Reign” maze is described as a haunted experience centered on Jason Voorhees. Returning mazes include Slaughterhouse, Silver Scream Studios: Director’s Cut, The Toothfairy and Paranormal Inc. The latter originally debuted at Knott’s Scary Farm before moving to Carowinds in 2022, according to Attractions Magazine. “The Conjuring: Beyond Fear,” a 20-minute walkthrough attraction based on the Warner Bros. films, will return with separate admission. It is not included with either Carowinds admission or the Haunted Attractions Pass. This year’s entertainment lineup includes the new shows “The Resurgence,” “Blade Drummers — The Sacrifice” and “Sinister Slide Squad,” along with the returning Spectral Sisters. The event will also feature the Hollow and Grave Garden scare zones. For guests seeking a less intense Halloween experience, Carowinds will offer the daytime Tricks and Treats event with trick-or-treating stations, a costume contest and Halloween appearances by Peanuts characters. A “No Boo!” necklace, listed at $19, is intended to signal that scare-zone performers should not approach or frighten the wearer.
