Slinky Dog Dash has reopened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios after a series of closures and a short-lived return earlier in the week. BlogMickey reported that the Toy Story Land roller coaster resumed operation around 11:15 a.m. on September 4 and was posting a 120-minute wait.
The latest reopening follows an unsuccessful return on September 3. After remaining closed for three consecutive days, the coaster reopened during Early Entry but operated only for a short time before going down again. BlogMickey reported that it had been unavailable since shortly after 9 a.m. that day.
The initial closure began on August 31, when Slinky Dog Dash did not operate at any point during the day. It remained closed on September 1 and September 2, with Disney not publicly explaining the cause of the downtime.
During the third day of the closure, BlogMickey observed a ride vehicle stopped on the track near the coaster’s second launch. An electrical panel was open nearby, with what the outlet described as apparent ride-control and communication equipment visible. Disney has not confirmed whether that observation was connected to the attraction’s downtime.
The company also has not said what repairs were performed before either reopening, or whether the September 3 shutdown was related to the issue behind the earlier three-day closure. As of the September 4 report, Slinky Dog Dash was operating again, although its status and wait time could change during the day.
The repeated downtime also affected Lightning Lane availability for the attraction, according to BlogMickey’s reporting. Guests visiting Hollywood Studios were advised to check the My Disney Experience app for the latest operating status and posted wait time before heading to Toy Story Land.
