Construction is progressing on Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, with new themed features appearing across the resort’s hotel, waterfront accommodations, and recreation complex along Bay Lake. Disney has confirmed that the resort will officially open on July 1, 2027.
The resort is being built between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. According to WDW News Today’s September construction updates, much of the main hotel’s exterior now includes pale green walls, dark gray columns, reddish-brown accents, decorative balcony panels, and tree-inspired murals. Most guest room windows and balcony railings are also in place, although sections of the building remain unfinished and crews continue installing exterior panels, glass, and roofing materials.
The water side of the hotel features murals depicting trees and other plant life. Workers have also been applying wood-like finishes to exposed steel supports, including several with a reddish-brown coating intended to resemble structural timber. The central lobby porte-cochère remains under construction, but its broad glass façade and layered, angled roof design are visible beneath protective coverings and temporary railings.
At The Wetlands, the resort’s outdoor recreation area, dark teal waterslide sections have been staged near the pool complex. More of the reddish-brown support structure has been installed, beginning to show the slide’s route above the recreation area, while much of the slide tubing has not yet been lifted into place.
Construction is also advancing around Otter Springs, an interactive water-play area for younger guests. Lower portions of oversized green grass elements shown in Disney’s concept art have been installed, while additional scenic elements and wood-like finishes continue to be added. The Wetlands will also include Heron Shores, with climbing features, and Daydream River, a lazy river.
The resort’s separate A-frame Lake Houses are progressing at different rates along the shoreline. Some have completed shingle roofs, large windows, dark structural beams, and much of their exterior paneling, while others still have exposed walls and construction materials nearby. The one- and two-bedroom accommodations are inspired by “Brother Bear” and will include private porches, full kitchens, and Bay Lake views.
Work is also continuing at the Lakeshore Lodge boat dock, where most of the steel framework for the overhead covering appears to have been installed.
WDW News Today reported in an earlier update that the resort is planned to include 967 rooms. Disney has also revealed three restaurants and concept art for the lobby and fireworks lounge.
Before the resort’s opening, Disney Vacation Club members will be able to participate in the “First Wave” Experience. The three-night preview is scheduled for June 24 through June 27, 2027, and will include theme park admission, special dining experiences, commemorative keepsakes, and other offerings. Reservations are scheduled to open November 7, 2026, at 10 a.m.
